Trade shows in the solar space are always energizing, and PV EXPO【秋】~[国際]太陽光発電展~ (the International Photovoltaic Power Generation Expo) in late summer 2022 was no exception. We took part from August 31 to September 2 at Makuhari Messe, just outside Tokyo, and it turned out to be a really productive few days for the team.
Japan was ramping up its renewable targets back then, with solar continuing to play a central role in the country’s energy mix. The timing felt perfect—attendees were actively scouting reliable partners and solutions amid supply chain shifts and growing project pipelines.
Our booth drew a steady stream of visitors—over 500 across the three days—including EPC contractors, project developers, distributors, utility reps, and commercial end-users from Japan and the broader Asia-Pacific region. Everyone wanted mounting systems that could stand up to Japan’s demanding conditions: high winds, seismic activity, heavy rainfall, and limited space.

We focused on our proven lineup:
- Ground-mounted systems optimized for utility-scale farms, with robust designs featuring adjustable tilts and high-durability coatings.
- Rooftop mounting solutions built for speed and minimal structural impact—great for factories, warehouses, and commercial buildings where quick ROI matters.
- Carport solar mounts, which sparked a lot of interest as Japan seeks efficient ways to turn parking lots and open paved areas into dual-purpose solar generation sites
We set up hands-on demos, 3D models, and engineering walkthroughs so people could really get a feel for how our systems improve yield, cut installation time, and handle local compliance (think JIS, IEC, and Japan-specific wind/snow loads).
The conversations were the highlight. Our team ran more than 100 targeted meetings, diving into project details and tailoring recommendations. By the close of the show, we’d secured initial distribution talks with a couple of key Japanese players, collected solid leads from around 220 qualified prospects (heavily weighted toward B2B developers and installers planning multi-MW arrays), and earned strong praise for our engineering focus and product reliability.

One EPC manager put it well: “Your mounts look built for the real challenges we face here—solid, adaptable, and straightforward to deploy.” Comments like that make the effort worthwhile.
All in all, PV EXPO【秋】 2022 at Makuhari Messe was a clear win for SR Solar. It strengthened our footprint in Japan and opened doors across the region at a time when the market was hungry for dependable mounting partners.
